Seminar 1: Cross-Cultural Competencies Seminar for Medical Professionals
Medicine has always been a very hierarchical model, where Medical Professionals have all the knowledge and power to determine a patient’s medical plan. With the advent of the internet, we are shifting to a model where patients now have more information than ever.
So how can we manage the changes in this physician - patient culture?

In this seminar, you will learn cross-cultural strategies that build bridges for successful communications between individuals in any cultural context - as doctors, specialists, psychotherapists, medical professionals, alternative health practitioners, service providers and patients.

You will be provided a set of easily applicable cross-cultural tools, known as The Alexis Principles™, that enable you and the individuals you interact with to be clear on mutual goals for a patient’s health. No matter where you are, or where the person you are interacting with is from, you are crossing cultural contexts in which you live, behave and exchange information to relate and meet goals.  

In the HorseDream training model the horses are emotional bridges between people.
In multi-cultural seminars the horses help us to build bridges between different cultures,
religions and worldviews.

This seminar will help hone your skills in ensuring positive communications and outcomes.

In the evening, please join us for a Networking Dinner with Medical Professionals from Europe and North America. You will share experiences and exchange knowledge with people in similar professions in other parts of the world, all while dining in picturesque Ghent, Belgium.


Seminar 2: Refining Leadership Skills for Business Leaders 
Leadership starts from within. Your personal development leads to your professional development. This seminar is relevant to any professional in the healthcare sector.  

Working with the horses, you will focus on how and who you are as a leader. You will come to understand the important elements of leadership: clarity of purpose, awareness, belief, confidence, and charisma. You will learn how to tap into this inner leadership, and learn to positively translate that to your practice, affecting:
- the way you do consultations 
- the way you balance life and work
- the way you maintain your psychological integrity (your ability to separate yourself from what
  your patient is feeling or thinking)
- the relationship boundaries you set (for yourself, your patients, your colleagues)

You will have the opportunity to build leadership skills and confidence with many different leadership styles, all of which are transferable to the workplace and day-to-day life. Using the principles of experiential learning with the horses, we will lead you through hands-on exercises and theoretical sessions regarding underlying metaphors for leadership.
