It is true that there is room for strategy and planning within the confines of a business. But there is also room for heart, and that comes forward when we accept the present moment we are in and the work we do together.
Our true vocation in life, as Parker Palmer so aptly put it, is not answering a calling “out there” that demands we be something we are not. It is from our inner voice, calling us to be the person we were born to be.
When a horse interacts with a human, they do not care whether that person is the manager of a Fortune 500 company or an idler with absolutely no ambition. All they care about is whether the human cares about them.
